About the Port Kirk:

Welcome to the Port Kirk home page

We are a small, friendly congregation enthusiastic about encouraging and maintaining a Christian presence by the Lake of Menteith. The Lake islands have been a centre of Christianity since mediaeval times and the historic ruins have a strong sense of the spirituality which infused worship there. Conscious of this precious heritage, we keep the flame of faith alive in the Kirk. The Port Kirk has served the people of Menteith for hundreds of years and the present lovely building dates from Victorian times. We have a Sunday service every week at 10 am and are delighted to welcome visitors: the Sunday Club for 4-11 years meets at the same time. In addition there are lively evening services held once a month with the Six Churches Together, a group of Carse parish churches. The Carse Youth Project holds fun and interesting events for young people of secondary school age and gives young people from all the local villages a place to meet and make friends. We hold regular musical evenings and a flower festival and the Church is open to visitors during the summer months. Come and see for yourself: the Kirk is open to everyone, whether a member or not.
