Port of Menteith Church is linked with Aberfoyle Church
These two churches, along with Buchlyvie and Gartmore, Kippen and Norrieston, form ‘The Six Churches Together’ – a local grouping who share special services and evening worship.
We are a small, friendly congregation enthusiastic about encouraging and maintaining a Christian presence by the Lake of Menteith. The Lake islands have been a center of Christianity since mediaeval times and the historic ruins have a strong sense of the spirituality which infused worship there. Conscious of this precious heritage, we keep the flame of faith alive in the Kirk. The Port Kirk has served the people of Menteith for hundreds of years and the present building dates from Victorian times. We have a Sunday service every week at 10 am and are delighted to welcome visitors: the Sunday Club for 4-11 years meets at the same time. In addition there are lively evening services held once a month with the Six Churches Together, a group of Carse parish churches.
The Kirk with its beautiful location beside the Lake of Menteith is a popular venue for weddings. We hold regular musical evenings and a flower festival and the Church is open to visitors during the summer months. Come and see for yourself: the Kirk is open to everyone, whether a member or not.
